In His Own Words

I see myself leading my team out onto our field with a crowd of 7,000+ and our student section, The Pit, roaring and cheering for us. Our fans are extremely important and they will ride with us all the way to our overall goal of this season, win a state title.

With football season being right around the corner, I took a moment to recall my unbelievable summer. Immediately after wrapping up the 2013-14 school year with a 4.17 GPA, I was on a flight to Baltimore, Maryland for the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge. This camp was a notable event for me because I was able to win the Leadership Award taking home a 10 gallon Gatorade cooler signed by every player from the camp. Following this camp, I attended the B2G Elite Camp held at Cal Lutheran which gave me a glimpse into the life of a college football player. My next trip was to Nashville, Tennessee where I attended the International Boys Schools Coalition. During this trip, I resided at Vanderbilt University and was able to represent my school at an international level and learn about servicing the less fortunate. Nike: The Opening 2014 was the last camp that I attended this summer and it was absolutely incredible. It was a very humbling opportunity to hone my craft and become a better football player.
Enough with my summer theatrics, we will now move onto my team’s imminent success in this upcoming year. We are returning a lot of key starters, some of which are carrying Division 1 offers and some younger talent poised to have great years and receive their offers. I see myself leading my team out onto our field with a crowd of 7,000+ and our student section, The Pit, roaring and cheering for us. Our fans are extremely important and they will ride with us all the way to our overall goal of this season, win a state title. With this goal in mind and the emphasis from our coaches we know that we must focus on each day and beating our upcoming opponent on that day by outworking and outsmarting them. We started our off-season weightlifting program at the beginning of February and have never looked back. In the middle of summer our team attended a full contact camp at the University of San Diego where we were able to coalesce as a team while dominating over other teams. Our summer weight lifting and speed training program concluded on July 25, 2014, with a circuit beach workout at 6am and wrapped up at 8am with the entire team jumping over the waves in the Pacific Ocean as a ballistic unit. “Hell Week” will be another chapter that defines us throughout our journey. Our players will have the mindset to not just survive, but to thrive during the insanely physically and mentally challenging conditioning.
Praising God every step of the way, I will take it upon myself to lead this team of great young men to the “Promised Land.” Go Saints and God bless!
